Bio The Reverend David H. May is a 1993 graduate of St. Luke's School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Mr. May earned a B.A. in Dramatic Arts from The University of Tennessee (1981) and an MFA in Dramatic Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University (1987). Prior to ordination, he worked as an actor in New York as well as in regional theatres in Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

Following ordination, the Rev. May served as Assistant Rector at the Church of Our Savior, Charlottesville, VA and as priest-in-charge and later rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in the Oregon Hill neighborhood of Richmond, VA. He has served as rector of Grace Church, Kilmarnock since the spring of 2006.

In January, 2006, the Rev. May was elected by the 211th. Annual Council to the Diocesan Standing Committee Class of 2009.

David and his wife, Emily, have been married for 18 years. Emily formerly worked as an accomplished actress and dancer after earning her degree in Dramatic Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. The Mays live in Kilmarnock VA with their two sons, John (age 16) and Ben (age 13).
